How To Meet A Dog
When meeting a dog it is important to listen to their body language and take it at their pace. Make them feel safe and give them the choice to approach at their speed.

Creating A Calm Dog
It is important that we help our dogs to calm. This may not be something that comes naturally to them. Just like meditation is a practice, we need to help our excitable dogs take some mental health breaks too.

Resource guarding
Resource guarding is completely natural. Think about it, how do you feel when someone tries to take something valuable from you without an explanation? I know I'm not too happy when someone tries to take my last hot chip. Firstly, we need to understand how we can contribute to a dogs resource guarding behaviours.

Reactivity
Expecting our dogs to be friends with everyone and everything is totally bizarre. Considering you don't like everything and everyone. Understanding your dog's threshold, likes, dislikes, and needs and preventing them from interacting with things they are fearful or overstimulated by is how we can help our reactive furry friends.

Separation Anxiety
Focusing on keeping your dog under threshold during controlled absences, instead of randomly increasing alone time will be a game changer to help your dog with their separation anxiety.
It may seem like a slower approach, but you will build a strong foundation and give your dog the confidence to be alone not just the ability to struggle through it.
